Mark Tarpley, PhD – Director and Senior Fellow of Trinity Hall
Mark Tarpley was born in Commerce, TX, a small East Texas university town. He grew up in a home of educators where his dad was a university professor and his mom was an elementary school teacher. During his college years, he met his wife, Sophia, and together, they have seven children. Mark earned his M.Div. from St. Tikhon’s Theological Seminary and had the privilege of working under the guidance of Dr. Christopher Veniamin (Previously Professor of Patristics at St. Tikhon’s Theological Seminary and Dean of the Antiochian House of Studies) for both his M.Div. thesis and his doctoral dissertation, receiving his PhD from Southern Methodist University. His graduate work focused on the Church Fathers’ writings on marriage, family, and education. He has worked in the educational space as an instructor, school administrator, and corporate director for over twenty-five years. His instructional experience includes middle school, high school, undergraduate, master’s level, and doctoral level courses. He is the author of Beginning to Read the Church Fathers, Fundamental Assumptions of the Christian Faith as well as a number of other publications.
Asher Augustine, ThM – Junior Fellow of Trinity Hall
Asher Augustine moved to Fort Worth, TX in 2017 to pursue a Master of Arts in Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Five years later, he married his wife Laura who hails from Germany. Asher is currently pursuing a doctorate in Systematic Theology and Church History with a focus on late Greek patristics. He holds educational experience in biblical studies, church history, early Christian-Muslim relations and theology. He was born in Salalah, Oman to Pakistani immigrants and has served his local church community in various pedagogical capacities.
Zach Lueth, B.A. – Senior Tutor of Trinity Hall
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Zach Lueth developed a love of learning while studying Literature and Philosophy at Dallas Baptist University. Since graduation, he has been involved with many local church ministries, including educational studies for youth and adults. His interests include the history of ideas, English literature, and early Christian history.
Nick Ellis, DPhil – Visiting Senior Fellow of Trinity Hall
Nicholas Ellis earned his Master and Doctorate degrees in New Testament from the University of Oxford and has taught at Wycliffe Hall. In addition, he has been a visiting researcher at Duke University and Tyndale House, Cambridge. He is an academic with a strong teaching and publication record across the disciplines of Christian Origins, Jewish studies, and Linguistics as well as an organizational leader (having founded or led various organizations in North America, Brazil, East Africa, and Europe). His specialties include classical literature, philosophy, and theology with extensive experience in Great Books education and Socratic dialogue methodology.
